Directions to Chinmaya Vibhooti
By Air: Arrive at Pune Airport and take a taxi (one hour ride) to Chinmaya Vibhooti.
By Rail: Arrive at Pune Railway Station and take a taxi (approximately one hour ride) to Chinmaya Vibhooti.
By Taxi: Private cars can be arranged for transport to Chinmaya Vibhooti from Mumbai and Pune. E-mail Chinmaya Vibhooti or call +91-20-2296 0012 (Mon-Sat, 9 AM-5 PM) for details.
From Mumbai by Car: Take the Mumbai-Pune Expressway (toll road) and take the exit for Lonavala/Karla, which leads to the old Mumbai-Pune Highway. Go 15 km on the old Mumbai-Pune Highway toward Kamshet.Just before Kamshet, make a right to go towards Pawna Nagar. Go 14 km, and after crossing Pawna Nagar, turn left at the T-junction, which goes toward the village of Paud. Follow this road for 15 km. to the village of Kolwan. A short distance after crossing Kolwan, you will see Chinmaya Vibhooti on your left. There are Chinmaya Vibhooti road signs from Kamshet to Kolwan.
From Mumbai by Bus: There is a bus (Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation) that goes daily from Mumbai to Kolwan. This is a public bus, not a private or luxury bus. It starts from Parel and goes to Paud (Kolwan is on the way). The bus leaves Parel at 7:30 a.m. and reaches Kolwan at about 11:30 a.m. Purchase your ticket to 'Sathesai Village,' the stop that comes after Kolwan and you can alight right at Chinmaya Vibhooti's gates.The bus can also be boarded from these stops:
  • Dadar (opposite the Asiad Bus Stand) at 7:35 AM
  • Kurla Depot at 7:45 AM
  • Chembur Maitri Park at 7:55 AM
  • Vashi
  • CBD Belapur
  • Panvel
The approximate fare is Rs 100.
From Pune by Car: In Pune, get to the Chandini Chowk intersection, which is on the Mumbai-Bangalore Highway. From Chandini Chowk, take the road to Paud (paved road, 25 km.). At Paud, turn right at the State Transport (ST) Bus Stand, and get onto the Paud-Kolwan-Pawna road. After 10 km, Chinmaya Vibhooti is on your right.
From Pune by Bus: The bus journey from Pune takes approximately two hours. There is a bus to Kolwan that leaves from the Swar gate Bus Stand every hour, approximately 9 a.m.-4 p.m. There is another bus from Deccan Corner to Kolwan, but with much lesser frequency.There are no easy bus options from Pune's airport or railway station. The recommended option is to take an auto rickshaw to the Swar gate Bus Stand and catch a bus from there.All the buses to the following destinations pass Chinmaya Vibhooti's gates (purchase your ticket to 'Kolwan Village,'): Kolwan, Javan, Valeen, Bhalgudi, Chavsar, and Shilim. These buses generally operate from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.Alternately, there are many buses to Paud. From Paud, you can take buses going to Kolwan-Pawna or share six-seater jeeps.
