Chinmaya Book Fair at Pune

As a curtain raiser event for the year long celebrations of the Birth Centenary of Param Pujya Gurudev,Chinmaya Mission, Pune organized a grand exhibition of English, Marathi, Gujarati books and Audio, Video CD’s/DVDs exclusively of ‘Chinmaya Mission Publications’. Such kind of exhibition displaying exclusively our publications was held for the first time in Pune city.The exhibition was held from 18th April 2015 – 20th April 2015 and was open between 10.00am to 8.00pm. The venue for the exhibition was Tilak Smarak Mandir, Pune which is one of the prime locations of the city.The exhibition was inaugurated by Padmabhushan Dr. S. B. Mujumdar (Founder and president of Symbiosis Group of educational institutions) and presided by Shri. Malhar Arankalle (Chief editor-Daily Sakaal –a leading newspaper in Pune). 200+ titles in English, 70+ titles in Marathi and few titles in Gujarati along with CD’s/DVD’s were exhibited on 16 stalls spread over an area of 3600 sq ft (approx.)

The eye catchy decoration of the exhibition hall with animated characters of Lord Krishna and Lord Ganesha, the unique layout and attractive display of books was praised by each and every visitor of the exhibition. People appreciated the team efforts and the help/guidance received from the volunteers in selection of books. The team worked under the guidance of Swamini Keertananandaji, resident Acharya, Pune. It was a successful event in the sense that 70% of the people who visited the exhibition got introduced to the Mission for the first time. Majority of the customers had walked in and they did not leave the exhibition hall empty handed. The exhibition was very well received with a positive feedback and few requests to conduct such exhibition atleast twice a year. During the 3 days of exhibition, the total sales crossed the figure of Rs. 2,00,000/-.

During the exhibition, in the evening from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m., each day, one selected episode of Upanishad Ganga was shown on the full screen, followed by a small talk on the episode by Swami Siddeshanandaji , resident Acharya, (Lohegaon) Pune. It helped in promotion and sale of Upanishad Ganga DVDs.
