Gurudev said, "a temple is that which gives an atmosphere for the human mind to quieten itself into the contemplation of the higher Reality".
On the importance of temples in our culture Swami Chinmayananda said, "a temple is a social centre and must become a place of cultural revival. It is a sacred place of reverence (Sangam), where love of the mind and respect of the intellect (Ganga and Jamuna) come together".
