As part of the birth centenary celebrations of Swami Chinmayananda, Chinmaya Mission-Madurai, has hit upon an innovative way to educate children on culture and tradition using ‘Yagnatorium.’
The ‘Yagnatorium’ is an inflatable and portable structure inside which a 12-minute animated video on aspects of Hinduism is projected on the ceiling, recreating the effect of a planetarium.
Jyoti Yatra
“As part of the centenary celebrations, a Chinmaya Jyoti Yatra is also travelling across the country and the ‘Yagnatorium’ will be set up at every Chinmaya Mission where the celebrations are held,” said Swami Sivayogananda from the Chinmaya Mission in Madurai.
The Chinmaya Jyoti Yatra bus, which was flagged off from Ernakulam on May 8, is stationed on the Chinmaya Mission premises.
It would visit 150 cities in the next one year. The bus has a photo exhibition on the life of Swami Chinmayananda.
“The ‘Yagnatorium’ provides an innovative platform using which children get to know the importance of our culture and tradition. They will immensely enjoy the animated video,” said Swami Sivayogananda. The ‘Yagnatorium’ is stationed on the Chinmaya Mission premises at Doak Nagar near Kochadai. There were shows on Friday.
