New Year Celebrations
To bid goodbye to 2016 and welcome the New Year a string of programs were organized at Chinmaya Mission Delhi.
The evening began with a thought provoking play- ‘Ek’ directed by Dr. Ramendra Chakravarty. It carried a crisp message -You leave your Guru and you lose direction and are led by your greed for money and finally pay for your wrong actions.
The play began with the Dance of Death, making one sit up and remembers that death spares no one; time is slipping by …One year to another….
The Bhajans that followed in the evergreen voice of Shri Dayanand transported the audience into the Bhakti Bhav and everyone was set for the grand Panchayatana Puja, which followed. The Tapovan Hall was resplendent and the altar glowed with the light from the shining brass lamps. Swami Prakarshananda in the presence of Swamini Gurupriyananda and assisted by Anand Sharmaji and Ranjna Sharma led the congregation of over
250 people to perform the Puja with proper understanding of each step. The hall reverberated with the Vishu Sahasranama chanting, as the clock struck twelve Aarti was performed both at the altar and at Pujya Gurudev’s Pratima. As the New Year arrived we remembered His words.… Beloved Lord! You had, with infinite patience, in your endless mercy, led us through a busy year, giving certainly more than what we asked for, and often even more than what we perhaps deserved…
