Introduction

Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda (then posted at CM San Jose) planted the seeds of Chinmaya Mission activities when he first visited Bakersfield in January 1991. Pujya Guruji performed Bhumi Puja in June 2005 named the ashram “Chinmaya Gokul.”

Swami Ishwarananda remains a constant guide and source of inspiration in the growth of CM Bakersfield and its activities. For the past six years, he has conducted annual seminars co-organized by CM Bakersfield and Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. These seminars focus on mind-body integration through spirituality and psychology, provide CME credits, and attract a large number of attendees.
