Swamini Aaradhanananda attains Mahasamadhi
Swamini Aaradhanananda peacefully took final refuge at the lotus feet of Pujya Gurudev in Mumbai, at 12.16 AM on 22 March 2024.
A student of the 1991-1993 batch of the Vedanta Course at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Powai, Mumbai, she went on to receive Brahmacharya Deeksha in May 1993, when she was given the name Brahmacharini Vividisha Chaitanya.
In February 2012, she received Sannyasa Deeksha from Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda, and became Swamini Aaradhanananda.
Her illustrious 30-year tenure at Central Chinmaya Mission Trust in Powai, Mumbai, was marked by an array of remarkable contributions and her vibrant spirit manifested in diverse talents, exceptional traits and deep devotion towards Radha Rani.
As the editor of Balvihar magazine, Swamini Aaradhanananda poured her heart into crafting an enriching tapestry of content for children. Each issue, meticulously curated, brimmed with jokes, puzzles, special celebrations, captivating stories, thought-provoking articles and enchanting drawings. Also the author of 11 books for children, her unwavering commitment to nurturing young minds fostered an environment of joy, learning and spiritual growth.
Her mastery of mimicry brought delight and laughter, while her eloquent command over English filled the magazine’s pages with grace and charm. Beyond linguistic prowess, her poetic compositions wove tales of inspiration and wonder.
She will be remembered for her immense seva to Chinmaya Mission, which she offered with great devotion. Our respectful homage to Swamini Aaradhanananda.
Make It Happen at Chinmaya Vibhooti
40 delegates from around the world attended Swami Swaroopananda’s life-changing Make It Happen course from 28 February to 5 March 2024 at Chinmaya Vibhooti, the Vision Centre of Chinmaya Mission, located at Mulshi, near Pune.
The course was packed with thought-provoking classes, impactful activities and exercises, introspection tools and lots of individual guidance from Swami Swaroopananda.
Make It Happen is an inward journey which reveals life’s unique purpose and allows delegates to overcome the mind’s deepest limitations and discover success, significance and fulfillment.
The ambience, delicious food, attention to detail and camaraderie between the group contributed to the fabulous experience.
Gita Talks in Singapore
Swami Swaroopananda (Global Head, Chinmaya Mission) delivered an uplifting series of evening talks on Bhagavad Gita Chapter 9 at PGP Auditorium in Singapore, from 13 to 17 March, 2024.
Reflecting on ‘The Great Secret: A Confidential Message from Lord Krishna’ he focused on how spirituality can seamlessly become part of one’s daily life. The enthusiasm and active engagement of the audience made these discourses a memorable experience for all.
Mahashivaratri Celebrations at Jagadeeshwara Mandir
The magnificent Jagadeeshwara Mandir at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Powai, Mumbai, was the first ever Chinmaya Mission temple to be consecrated by Swami Chinmayananda, at the first ever Chinmaya Mission ashram. Every year, hundreds of thousands of devotees throng to behold and receive blessings from the beautiful and powerful deity, from near and far.
This year was no different. There was a long, steady stream of devotees throughout the day, while Puja, Chanting and Arati went on.
The blessed and memorable event took place in the presence of Swami Tejomayananda, Swami Swaroopananda, Swami Advayananda, Swami Sharadananda and several other Swamins, Brahmacharins, students, sevaks, staff and volunteers. The book stall, gift stalls and information stalls were a special attraction.
All those who attended partook of Prasad, and left feeling uplifted and deeply blessed and fortunate. Such is the grace and power of the ever sweetly and serenely smiling Shri Jagadeeshwara.
Sri Bharathi Vidyalaya Graduation in Hosur
Chinmaya Mission Hosur celebrated Graduation day of Sri Bharathi Vidyalaya school on 3 March 2024 at Chinmaya Upasana.
The event started with an invocation prayer. Swami Shashvatananda, President Shri Madeswaran and the Principal of Sri Bharathi Vidyalaya lit the lamp which symbolizes knowledge.
Children of Standard II sang a bhajan on Guru and they depicted the value of Kindness through a story. An action song on Love was also sung by them.
Children of Standard IV sang a song on Lord Rama and Lord Krishna. They presented about Ayodhya and also sang Rama Rajyam song.
Standard VI children performed a dance followed by a skit on the story of Ajamila which depicts the power of God’s name.
Standard VIII children, through an activity, showed that one should keep God first in life. They also sang a bhajan on Lord Rama.
Swami Shashvatananda gave his benediction and spoke on the importance of the Chinmaya Value Education Programme classes.
Graduating children were honored with medals and certificated.
Matru Puja was done by the students for their parents by chanting Matru Stavanam written and composed by Swami Tejomayananda
The event concluded with closing prayers. Prasadam was distributed to all.
Sannyasa Deeksha on Mahashivaratri 2024
Today, in the holy precincts of Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Powai, Mumbai, three Brahmacharinis and one Brahmachari took the sacred vows of Sannyasa. Below are their new names:
1. Brahmacharini Bhamati Chaitanya – Swamini Bhumananda (CM Mumbai)
2. Brahmacharini Dharana Chaitanya – Swamini Gopikananda (CM Madgaon, Goa)
3. Brahmacharini Mahima Chaitanya – Swamini Nirupamananda (CM Trincomalee, Sri Lanka)
4. Brahmachari Samaatma Chaitanya – Swami Samaatmananda (CM Bhavnagar, Gujarat)

Celebrating Shri Hanuman in Hosur
Hanuman Jayanthi celebrations at Chinmaya Upasana, Hosur, started with Special Abhishekam. Hanuman Chalisa chanting was done while Shri Hanuman was decorated with butter, fruits and flowers.
Sevaks reflected on Lord Hanuman about whom they share in CVEP classes. Swami Shashvatananda explained how Shri Hanuman mission in search of Mother Sita was accomplished in spite of obstacles. He shared how a sevak should surrender in seva for the Higher goal. When one has complete surrender as Hanuman, the Lord gives Himself to such a sevak/devotee.
Shri Hanuman ashtottara puja was performed, arati was done and prasad was given for all.

Shraddhanjali to Smt. Darshanaben Nanavaty
Smt. Darshanaben Nanavaty took final refuge at the lotus feet of Swami Chinmayananda in Houston, at 1.30 PM local time on 16 February 2024.
Shri Gaurangbhai and Smt. Darshanaben, fondly known as Darshana Aunty in Chinmaya Mission Houston, attended the Vedanta Course at Piercy, California in 1979, after which their commitment to the Vedantic path took root in Houston from the year 1982. In more than three decades that followed, their loving guidance has spiritually and culturally nourished thousands of families.
Abundantly blessed by Swami Chinmayananda, respected Darshanaben compiled the Bala Vihar curriculum textbooks for the benefit of all Chinmaya Mission Centres worldwide. She has been a guiding force in the training of Bala Vihar sevikas. Years ahead of her times, her creativity, tireless work and tremendous vision brought Swami Chinmayananda’s teachings to seekers in various formats, including books, animation, CD-ROMs and even mobile Apps. The far-reaching Gita 365 App was her brainchild, followed by other Apps created by the Chinmaya Mission Houston team.
Always a sincere and most loving guide and teacher, the ever-smiling Darshanaben will be remembered for her tremendous contribution to her Guru’s work and legacy.
