Before we proceed with any
work or worship…
TO THE FAMED REMOVER OF OBSTACLES…
to Lord Ganapathi… we offer the first prayer.
Every aspect of HIS…
as if…cleanses every aspect of ours
HIS entire form is…WORTHY OF WORSHIP.
His single tusk reminds us to:
- Drop duality
- Adopt oneness of vision
- Rise above the pair of opposites.
His four arms promise to us…
the four pursuits of human life
dharma…artha…kāma…moksha
In His four hands he holds:
Noose…Modak…Goad…Blessings
The noose draws us back if we wander…
punishes the sinner
The modak…is the Prasad…
the promise of Bliss.
The goad urges self-control
The hand that blesses promises…
the highest and the best.
His big belly…stomachs everything.
The big ears…hear everything
the good…the bad…the indifferent.
The broad forehead…memorizes everything.
When we anoint it with…
sandal and kumkum
…our life too becomes fragrant
His trunk symbolises both…
success…discrimination
It bends right or left…
IT says – I always take the devotees’ side!
SUCH IS HIS COMPASSION FOR HIS DEVOTEES!
Those small eyes see
all of TIME…Past…present…future
The GROSS and the subtle.
They goad us to know Truth from gross.
Ganesha existed:
- as Pure Being before Creation,
- as Truth beyond Sprit and Matter
Is the material and efficient Cause of the world.
The embodiment of Omkara
Whose sounds…A-U-M… are each
respectively…HIS feet…stomach…head.
On the Auspicious Day of GANESH CHATURTHI
WE PRAY: May LORD GANAPATI BLESS
Guide…inspire…enlighten
Seekers and devotees…
TO ATTAIN THEIR ONENESS WITH HIM!
