After a gap of a couple of years, Shree Chinmaya Adhyatmic Seva Sangh, Nepal arranged a Geeta Gyan Yagna conducted by Swami Bodhatmanandaji from 20th – 25th June, 2017 in the Jain Mandir hall.
We were fortunate Swamiji accepted our request to come to Kathmandu during his short break from the two years’s Vedanta Course which he conducts in Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Mumbai.
The texts taken were Geeta ch. 6 on Meditation in the evenings and Shankaracharya’s Drig Drishya Vivek in the mornings.
The seekers were impressed by Swamiji’s rendition of the texts and much appreciated his elucidation of the subtle meanings with apt examples using the contemporary terms and phrases which the audience could understand and relate to.
The Sangh’s President, Dr. Govind Tandan escorted Swamiji to the surroundings areas of Shri Pashupatinath temple. This consists of a wooded hillock known as Mrigasthali which is dotted with numerous monuments and temples. Deer can be seen roaming about freely without any fear of humans. After this “guided tour” Swamiji got special darshan of Shri Pashupatinath.
Swamiji was kept busy all six days by attending “bhikshas” at devotees’ homes.
Thanks to Gurudev’s blessing, we received good responses from our sponsors and donors. Due to their generousity, the Yagna was a great success. Nature too was kind to us – inspite of the monsoon season, the rains held off just before and after the pravachan.
The Yagna ended all too soon with Aarati and Guru Dakshina programme on the final evening.
