Gurudev’s Centenary celebrations started at 10:15 AM on May 8th 2016 with Tribute to Gurudev – Video of birthday song sung by Guruji was played. This was followed by the videos on Jyoti Yatra Song, “Gurdev in many manifestations”, “Gurudev – at every breath, a teaching”.
Guru Paduka Puja was then performed by our Swami Krishnathmananda Saraswathi. The Paduka Puja was followed by the Valedictory function of Joy ‘N’ Joy CVEP Summer Camp-2016 – Fifty six students, which was the culmination of one week long camp on Super Superman – Hanuman Chalisa.
While addressing the audience, Swamiji briefly introduced Gurudev and also spoke about the CVEP classes being conducted at Chinmaya Kaivalya and beginning of the new batch by June 2016.
All the camp students chanted very nicely the Hanuman Chalisa learnt during the camp.
Children enacted three stories namely, “Man’s greatness lies in his efforts” and “Saint Malidasa” in English and “The Benefit of Speech” in Tamil.
The “Ashtha Siddhis” or super natural powers, the boon bestowed by Sitaji on Hanumanji, were demonstrated and it was told how these can be applied in our day to day life.
The students also exhibited the everyday survival kit which included rubber band, band aid, toothpick, pencil etc. and they demonstrated how we should imbibe the qualities from these articles- the qualities of flexibility through rubber band, healing through band aid, picking up good qualities from toothpick etc. in a pleasant way.
The various creative projects executed by the students were on display for the parents and all to see.
A book stall on Children’s books was kept.
The parents expressed their happiness about the camp and explained how they learnt about Hanuman Chalisa and know many new stories and values from their children.
The programme concluded with the chanting of Hanuman Chalisa and the Camp Song- “Victory to the Maha Hero”.
Shri P. Palaniappan, Correspondent, Chinmaya Vidyalaya urged the students to continue to practice the learnings in the camp and gave away the Certificates to the Children.
