Around 60 devotees from various parts of India and the world assembled at Tapovan Kuti for a Camp on Mundakopanishad by Pujya Guruji Sw. Tejomayanandaji from 13th to 18th March. During the discourses Guruji not only explained the Upanishad mantras in his unique lucid style but also read out the Shankar Bhashya. In addition, early mornings there was Bhashya Parayan of the Upanishad led by Br. Tarak Chaitanya. Every night after dinner there was an informal satsang with Guruji where people would ask questions and he too shared his experiences with Gurudev, especially the time spent at Uttarkashi. Interestingly one of the questions asked was why the Mundaka Upanishad was very dear to him. In his concluding talk Guruji explained that it was one of the most comprehensive texts with its poetic and illustrative slokas. It gives the Guru-shishya parampara, the characteristics of a shishya and the Guru, the way to approach a Guru, nature of Brahma Vidya and its results, the method of meditation and finally the glory of God and the man of Realisation are sung. Thus it beautifully covers all the aspects of Vedanta. Many monks from the surrounding ashrams came regularly to attend the discourses.
The campers were also blessed by satsang sessions with Swni. Amitanandaji, Swni. Radhikanandaji, Br. Sunder Chaitanya, Br. Tarak Chaitanya, Brni. Rachana Chaitanya and Brni. Shanti. Some of the senior sadhus of Ujeli also paid a visit to Guruji. Br. Dev Chaitanya, at Tapovan Kuti conducts special classes for nurturing the village children. It was beautiful to watch Guruji lovingly spend some time with them. With a limited staff Br. Dev ji made commendable arrangements for the delegates despite the challenging weather conditions. The camp concluded with Pujya Gurudev’s paduka puja.
