The MRI Unit & Imaging Centre of CMH situated in the ground floor of the Sushruta block adjacent to the OPD was inaugurated on 31.03.2017 by Smt. Sudha N Murthy, Chairperson, Infosys Foundation, Bangalore with the blessings of Pujya Gurudev. The function was presided over by Sri B R Prabhakara, president CMH Management Committee.
The Imaging centre consists of a state-of- the-art MRI machine donated by Infosys Foundation. The Siemens MRI Unit is a 1.5 tesla state-of- the-art unit with the latest software available in the market. It provides easy, fast and efficient approach to consistently high image quality.
A 16 slice Siemens CT scan machine has been put up in the Imaging centre. This cost efficient CT scan machine delivers outstanding image quality at the right dose. It is highly reliable, easy to use and saves time.
Three new ultrasound machines for fetal scanning, infertility workup and regular scanning have been made available in three rooms in the Imaging centre. The Imaging centre also has a digital mammography for early deduction of breast malignancy, a bone densitometry unit for assessing the mineralization of bones and an OPG machine. The bone densitometry system helps to assess three major health conditions- osteoporosis, obesity and cardiovascular disease. These facilities have been added now to previously existing two digitized X-ray fixed units and three portable X-ray units.
In tune with the motto of CMH of providing quality care at an affordable cost for all strata of society the MRI and CT rates have been kept 40% below the existing market rates.
