Renovation of Omkareshwara temple in Chokkahalli, Kolar along with consecration of the new Shivalinga, Ganesha and Basava took place amidst all religious rites between 13th February, 2017 and 15th February, 2017 culminating in Kumbhabhisheka with Sahasra Kalshas on 15th February, 2017 in the holy presence of Pujya Swami Brahmananda and all the Acharyas of Karnataka along with trustees of Karnataka Chinmaya Seva Trust and Mission members from other centres of Karnataka. Sri K S Eshwarappa, senior member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and an ardent devotee of Pujya Gurudev was the chief guest of the function. The renovation saw laying new flooring of the entire temple, replacement of main entrance door and the windows, upgrading the acoustic system and lighting inside the temple, formation of tiled pathway round the temple, a new spacious and covered yagashala for performing all types of homas.
The religious rites on all the three days was dexterously managed by Vedabrahma Yaji Diwakar Bhat and a dedicated team of priests. The last day on 15th February saw more than 3000 devotees from across the state participating in the grand event.
