Over 80 delegates from the US, Canada, Trinidad & Tobago gathered for the first North American Sevaks’ Conference in Piercy, California – Think Big, Think Chinmaya. The delegates were led by Swami Swaroopananda (Global Head of Chinmaya Mission), the Chinmaya Mission West Board of Directors and Swamins and Brahmacharins serving the Mission in the US and Canada. The conference aimed to unite the Chinmaya family, reviewing 75 years of progress and planning for the next 25 years leading to the centenary of the Chinmaya Movement.
Key topics like the heart of the Mission, the Bala Vihar programme, the future of Chinmaya Mission, Chinmaya Yuva Kendra (CHYK), and the role of Chinmaya Publications were discussed in detail. The organizational set-up of the apex body and affiliated Centres were critically reviewed in terms of operations and compliance. Attendees cherished being at Krishnalaya, the first Ashram of Chinmaya Mission West in North America.
They enjoyed the thought-provoking, entertaining and fun treasure hunt called “On a Quest,” exploring the property and discovering hidden treasures related to Swami Chinmayananda’s life. The conference concluded with a Guru Purnima celebration and all left feeling fulfilled, proud of past achievements and excited for the next 25 years leading up to the 108th Chinmaya Jayanti celebrations
