Vidyarambham 2021 – Inauguration of the Academic Year 2021-22

Vidyarambham — An Auspicious and Warm Welcome to Our UG Students

Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV) welcomed its UG students for the year 2021-22 with an auspicious Vidyarambham ceremony. The ceremony was conducted in a blended mode with some of the faculty, administrative staff and students joining on the campus and the others joining online from the safety of their homes. The programme began with a prayer to Saraswati and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The freshers lit the lamp simultaneously, in their homes, as it was being lit here on the campus. Dr. S. Soumya (Registrar I/C), formally welcomed the students into the CVV family. This was followed by an inspirational address by Prof. Ajay Kapoor (Vice Chancellor).

Prof. Kapoor highlighted CVV’s commitment to academic excellence despite the pandemic and assured the students that CVV is well-equipped with all the facilities required to conduct the programmes online. He also invited the students to make full use of university education by exploring various academic and non-academic opportunities that such an environment provides. Lastly, he urged the students to aim high, have a large vision for themselves and also for the world around them.

This was followed by a benedictory address by Swami Advayananda (Trustee) wherein he reminded the students that when we aim high, it is important to remain focused despite facing failures. Drawing from Patanjali’s Yogasutra, Swamiji stressed that the students must cultivate firm, long-term, uninterrupted and devoted focus towards their aim. Further, he also reminded them that the students must share their success with others and adopt a cooperative approach to their pursuit.

Next, Prof. Gauri Mahulikar (Dean of Faculty) led the students to take the five vows. These vows, based on statements from the Vedas, call upon the students to take responsibility for their health, to study sincerely, to practice virtues like truthfulness, unselfishness and a concern for social good.

After this, the students were briefed about the sessions planned for them as part of the induction programme followed by closing prayers.

CVV wishes its new students all the best in their journey towards exceeding excellence.
