Introduction

During Pujya Guruji Yagna in 1980 at Rewa a devotee donated 1.25 acres of land to the newly formed Chinmaya Mission branch at Rewa. Gurudev came to Rewa on his second visit in April 1983. He had sent funds to the Trust to build a dispensary earlier. Dispensary is fully equipped and is serving the mankind for their ailments, at its best. During his second visit he laid the foundation for the Shi Ram Temple and inaugurated the dispensary building. The Maharaja and Maharani of Rewa along with a very large crowd heard him speak in the open ground which now is the Pitamaha Sadan. He told us that this shall be called Pitamaha Sadan and people of the age group of 60+ shall live here.

The Chinmaya Vanaprastha Sansthan works through the Pitamaha Sadan for the welfare of the aged. Many Vridhavasatha Shivirs have been organized in the premises. A formal Third age university (A3U) also functions from this address.
